Internet Explorer 64-bit

I recently bought a new laptop with Windows 7 64-bit. I noticed that there where 64-bit and 32-bit versions of Internet Explorer installed but that the 32-bit was pinned. Wondering why this was I did a little investigation.

64-bit IE will work faster and run with your system better. However apparently the Active-X plugin world needs to catch up first.

For example, you can not play Flash inside of the 64-bit browser. At least not until Flash 10.1 is released.

So for now I will continue to use the lesser of the two for maximum compatibility.

Chris's Gravatar Thanks for the comment TJ. Rereading it, it appears they will release the 64-bit support following the release of 10.1.

TJ Downes's Gravatar Jarrad, can you show me specific information that shows there will be x64 support in 10.1? I believe this is a common misconception because of the way that x64 bit support was stated, as Chris pointed out. To reiterate, from what I have read, there is nothing that indicates that 101. will have x64, rather they intend to provide this after the 10.1 release. This is not to say that 10.1 won't run on x64, because most 32bit binaries will. Rather, you wont be able to use 10.1 with an x64 browser.
