BarCampOmaha is almost here - October 2nd & 3rd at the Nomad Lounge.

I was unable to make it last year, and am excited to attend this year.

"BarCamp is an 'un-conference', or rather a conferece without a speaker list, without a fixed schedule, and without remorse."

For ONLY $5:

  • You can attend one of three tracks - Tech + Creative + Entrepreneurship
  • Free drinks at the opening party
  • Free breakfast
  • Free sodas, RedBull & snacks throughout the day
  • Free Lunch
  • Free BarCamp Omaha T-Shirt

Check it out at BarCampOmaha.org.

Adobe MAX Sessions Now Available Online

As I mentioned in an earlier post, Adobe will be posting all the US Adobe MAX 2008 sessions on tv.adobe.com. They're a little behind schedule apparently, but they are now going up. Check them out at tv.adobe.com. New videos will be appearing weekly.

Adobe Max 2008 Recap

Amcom put together a nice recap of Adobe Max 2008 in PDF format.

BarCamp Omaha Friday

If you attended the Flex Camp awhile back, think of BarCamp as a much looser get-together about the topics you vote on. BarCamp is an ad-hoc technology gathering for people to share and learn in an open environment. It is an intense event with discussions, demos, and interaction with attendees. Sessions are proposed and scheduled each day by attendees.

Some of the suggested topics include Groovy, RESTful w/ Ruby on Rails, VO's, Advanced Javascript, Twitterverse, Rails, Erlang, Git, Automatic Programming, Buddhism(?), ColdFusion, Tiovivo, FileMaker, Perl, Bioinformatics, launching projects, Mylyn, Subversion/Trac, ant, PSK31, and Flex. Whew!

The event is free and includes drinks, breakfast, lunch, and dinner. It's located in Northwest Omaha at the Frost Acres mansion. For more details see barcampomaha.org and perhaps I'll see you there!
